Cleaner design

While our last design was much loved, it wasn’t very user friendly based on the feedback we received. So, we’ve had a facelift to help you find the things you’re looking for! We hope you agree that the site feels much cleaner and fresher now.

Simplified search

Now, you can search by genre, mood and bpm (the speed of a track as measured in beats per minute). In the coming months there will be even more filters available like being able to search by track version / length and sorting options so you can drill down to the tracks you’re really interested in quickly.

More collections

We’ve added more collections and made them filterable. They may be a little bare at this point in time, but we will be filling them with at least 20 tracks each and continuing to add more themed collections for specific uses like science documentary soundtracks, kickstarter packs and product promo collections.

Logos and audio idents

We plan to beta-test a new section of the site dedicated to logos and audio idents as you expressed interest in that in our last survey. If you’re wondering what logos have to do with music (!), it’s basically a short soundtrack that usually goes underneath a company logo at the beginning of a video or some opener visuals etc., although it can also be used at the beginning of a podcast or radio show to introduce a programme for example. Logos and audio idents are important in branding, so if you run a YouTube Channel, you’ll be interested in this new area once we launch it.

To answer the more common questions we receive at InstrumentalBGM, we’ve cleaned up our FAQ’s page. If you have a question about anything on the site or tracks etc., please let us know.

Clearer licenses

While we only offer our standard license to be purchased via our website (as we’d need more info from you like audience size for other usage like in a film or TV advert), we’ve laid out our licenses on our license agreements page. For the majority of our customers, a standard license is all that is needed.

More secure

While all our payment processor was and will always be run via https for your security, we now also give you the option to view our entire site via https (to make sure you’re viewing the https version of the site, go to https://www.instrumentalbackgroundmusic.com – note the https at the front of the URL).
