Hello and welcome to Instrumental Background Music! To help you find the right music for your video, we’ve put together a brief guide to show you how to search for music in our catalogue.

Collections

These are essentially useful playlists of music that we put together for you so you can find music based on a topic like tracks for YouTube videos, background music for your company video, music for kickstarter projects and the like. We’re adding more and more tracks to these, but bear in mind some of them may be a little sparse at this point as they are highly curated!

Collections are the quickest way to find a track that will suit your project and we’ve even put some filters in place on the main collections page that let you specify just the collections with the right mood or genre you’re looking for. If you feel we’re missing an important collection of music, please let us know so we can fill the gap!

Searching for tracks

You can find tracks in our catalogue that have a specific tempo / BPM (beats per minute) or a certain mood or genre using the search function. To do that, click the ‘Search Music’ button:

When typing in keywords, think about the type of music you want i.e. do you want something that is upbeat? Uplifting? Dark or epic? Remember, you can leave this field blank if you want to filter just by the dropdown options.

Finding similar tracks

When you’re viewing a single track, if you scroll down a bit, you can find related tracks through a number of ways:

Part of ‘collection x’

If a track is part of a collection, then you’ll see which ones here:

Click on the collection name to see other tracks within that collection.

Find tracks with a similar mood or genre

Like with collections, you can find other tracks that have the same type of mood or genre by clicking the links for mood or genre:

Bespoke composition and custom search

If neither the collections nor search yield what you’re looking for, then we offer a bespoke music service that will get you some premium tailor-made music or we can find the track(s) for you within our catalogue. This is a personalised service where we handcraft / find the perfect soundtrack for your production.

Licenses

The standard license we sell via our website covers most uses you’ll need. You’re free to make things like Kickstarter videos, website videos, tutorials, e-learning courses, TV & film background music, wedding videos, podcasts, business explainers and YouTube videos (you’ll get an official license to release any Content ID claim for the music so don’t worry about copyright strikes or any nasty stuff like that).

For more complex projects like advertising campaigns, mass broadcast / release video games and movies, get in touch as we put together custom made licenses on a per-project basis.
